Plymouth City Centre Manager
Business Improvement District (BID)
Salary circa £50,000
A full time fixed term contract to March 2015
plus a further 5 year fixed term on BID renewal
Plymouth is Britain’s Ocean City and gateway to the beautiful South West and Cornwall. We have two BIDS within the City with the Plymouth City Centre Company being one of the pioneer BIDs in the Country and it is recognized as an exemplar BID. It is now three years into its second 5 year term. With a planned programme of major capital investment and city wide regeneration Plymouth is an exciting place to be with an exceptional quality of life.
We wish to recruit an enthusiastic, experienced and commercially focused Manager to complete delivery of the existing BID priorities up to October 2014 and to start to prepare and consult with businesses on a new business plan to increase prosperity and economic growth within the city centre.
The successful applicant will manage the annual BID budget in excess of £750k, maximise commercial funding opportunities within the city centre, leverage additional funding and return on investment to add value to the BID’s activities, manage key project delivery and lead on the campaign to extend the BID’s activities beyond 2015
Applicants will need to have a successful track record in either Town Centre management, BID or retail and direct experience in managing a wide range of diverse projects, negotiating and delivering contracts, marketing and event management.
Key to the role is the ability to develop strong effective relationships across the private, public, and voluntary sectors and a proven track record in partnership working will be an advantage.
This position will be directly accountable to the City Centre Company Board and report in to the Chief Executive of Destination Plymouth, the wider Destination Management organisation for Plymouth.

Bid Manager – Lancaster Business Improvement District
Circa £30,000 per year
A full time fixed term contract to 31st March 2016
Lancaster is a city that’s going places and we need an exceptional individual to help us on this journey.
We want to recruit an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial Manager for our newly established city centre Business Improvement District (BID) effective 1st April 2013. The BID Manager will be responsible for preparing and delivering an ambitious multi-project business plan designed to improve the economic prosperity of the city centre.
In addition the successful applicant will manage the annual £230k BID budget, seek out further funding to add value to the BID’s activities, and lead on the campaign to extend the BID’s activities beyond 2016.
Applicants will need to have direct experience in managing a wide range of diverse projects, negotiating and delivering contracts, marketing and event management, and developing strong effective relationships across the private, public, and voluntary sectors.

A Business Improvement District for Stratford Town Centre
Consultancy Brief
1. Introduction
In April 2013, the Stratford Renaissance Partnership Board agreed to fund the further investigation and possible development of a Business Improvement District (BID) for Stratford town centre.
To this end, SRP is now seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced consultants to deliver the project in two phases;
- Phase 1 – feasibility study
- Phase2 – development and establishment of the BID, including successful “YES” vote at ballot.
The award of phase 2 of the contract will be entirely dependant on the outcome of phase 1.
