Blackpool is the UK’s premier holiday resort and attracts millions of visitors each year. It plays a vital part in the economic life of Lancashire’s Fylde coast.
In addition to the multi million pound regeneration of the seafront promenade, major investment in various exciting town centre projects is scheduled to take place over the next few years transforming Blackpool into a world class resort.
Blackpool Town Centre BID won the first successful ballot in the Northwest and came into being on 1st. October 2005, for an initial 5 year period.
Since then, the BID, which is a continuation of the former Town Centre Management partnership established in 1994, has been successfully delivering a wide programme of initiatives alongside the substantial redevelopment and investment taking place in the resort, including the town centre’s Houndshill shopping centre.
There are plans to develop a separate Seafront BID which would work closely with the Town Centre BID, sharing where relevant, resources and initiatives.
Blackpool Town Centre BID is now seeking to appoint a BID manager to replace the present retiring Manager, after 13 years as head of the Town Centre Management and more recently BID partnerships. The role will be to continue the delivery of the current BID business plan, building upon the excellent work already carried out, and to focus heavily on the new BID Proposal and balloting campaign in 2010
We are looking for someone who has a successful track record of managing complex projects including events, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, has experience of town centre management, marketing and promotion expertise and sound financial management skills. Experience of securing grant funding and sponsorship would be an advantage.

Worcester - BID Project Manager

VisitWorcester is the city centre and visitor management company set up in February 2007 to develop Worcester as a leading destination for business and visitors. A beautiful cathedral and university city, set on the banks of the river Severn, we have aspirations to see our city and its visitor economy develop significantly over the next five years.
The Role
To help us to achieve these aspirations, we are looking to set up a Business Improvement District which will deliver the necessary support and funding from the local community to add to existing management budgets. We have ambitious plans to deliver a range of exciting and carefully targetted events to attract business and leisure visitors, an effective marketing campaign to bring one of the Midland’s hidden gems to the notice of a wider public and a clean, green and safe strategy to make Worcester one of the most desirable cities in the country. Your role will be to ensure that Worcester achieves a positive BID vote within the next two years. The appointment is for a fixed term of two years with a possibility of extension.
The Person
VisitWorcester is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and entrepreneurial project manager to lead the BID programme from the start to a positive vote in 2009. To succeed in this role, you will need to have a solid track record of success in town centre management, a clear understanding of what will motivate businesses to vote for a BID and of how the public and private sectors interact. You will possess first rate inter-personal skills, be a well-organised self-starter and committed to seeing complex projects through to their conclusion

Reading - Business Improvement District (BID) Manager

Reading UK CIC is its economic development company with a key role in sustaining this success and with overall responsibility for Reading’s Business Improvement District (BID).
The Reading BID went ‘live’ in April 2006 to deliver additional services that make our centre cleaner, safer, greener and better promoted & maintained. Our BID Manager is moving on and we are now looking to recruit a highly competent successor to carry on the excellent work done to date.
The role will be to continue the delivery of the current BID business plan and to create a positive climate within which local and national business stakeholders will consider a new and potentially expanded BID from April 2009. The ideal candidate will have frontline experience of managing operations, be fully conversant with contract procedures and have a real passion for making things happen; knowledge of BIDs would be advantageous. This high profile post will require you to forge effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, under the direction of the BID Committee, a sub group of the Company Board.

Liverpool City Central Business Improvement District (BID) is a private sector led initiative with an independent company established to take it forward, the Liverpool BID Company. It is a not for profit organisation.
BIDs offer a local solution to improve and manage areas. East Midlands - Regional BIDs Co-ordinator

The Association of Town Centre Management (ATCM) is a not for profit membership organisation focused primarily on the regeneration of the UK’s towns and cities. We are one of the leading organisations in the development and support of Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) through our National BIDs Advisory Service. We have recently been invited to deliver the UK’s first regional BIDs Academy on behalf of East Midlands Development Agency (emda) and we are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team to co-ordinate this programme.
If you are our successful candidate you will have a unique opportunity to develop an extensive knowledge of BIDs and raise your profile within the East Midlands. You will need administrative and management knowledge, preferably working within a partnership structure. You will be able to work with minimum supervision, build relationships with people at all levels and work within tight deadlines.

Business Improvement District (BID) Manager: Colchester

Croydon - 2 BIDs Vacancies

Croydon is in the process of establishing a BID for the town centre area and is planning to go to ballot in early 2007. The development and delivery of the BID is being managed by Croydon Business, the strategic business support agency for the borough, with town centre operations as part of its remit. The process is well underway and is being driven by a fully operational BID Board and BID Project Manager, with the support of the Local Authority BID Officer.
1. BID Project Manager P/T, up to £25,000 pa pro rata
An opportunity now exists for a part-time BID Project Manager (3 days a week) to work alongside the existing Project Manager to help deliver the BID in a timely manner and to a successful outcome. Initially this will be a temporary contract, but there could be a more permanent full-time opportunity with the implementation of the BID and its ongoing management, should a successful result be achieved at ballot (currently scheduled for early 2007). The job will be based in Croydon Town Centre.
You will need to be self-motivated, with good project management and communication skills, capable of engaging business support for the BID. Knowledge or some experience of marketing would also be beneficial.

2. Town Centre and BID Operations Manager F/T, £35,000pa
We are also looking for a BID and Town Centre Operations Manager to work with the BID Project Managers to help develop and promote the BID process and co-ordinate all operational activities relating to the BID area and the Town Centre of Croydon. Initially this will be for a fixed term three year contract but should the BID be successful, this will develop into a permanent position.
You will need a ‘can do’ approach, both in helping to establish operational frameworks for the BID company, input into the BID proposal and liaising with the Local Authority, service providers and the business community to engage support for the BID.

Inverness City Centre Management has successfully attracted funding from the Scottish Executive to pilot an application for Inverness city centre to become a Business Improvement District (BID). We are recruiting a BID Co-ordinator to develop and promote the Inverness City Centre BID with the aim of identifying suitable projects and securing sufficient support to establish an official BID within the City Centre.
The successful candidate will engage with all those located within the BID area and other key stakeholders to produce a BID Business Plan.
You will need good levels of communication skills, excellent business planning skills and the ability to maintain a balanced approach to problems and issues.
